Pilot MHH project in 7 selected public schools in Svay Chek Commune

Sustainability and a holistic care approach to menstrual health in Svay Chek Commune, Siem Reap. The project aims to involve all relevant stakeholders, including training the teachers and gathering parents for menstrual health and hygiene (MHH) awareness in the community. The project targets especially the primary students entering the secondary school, when students are prepared for growth and change, and girls for their first period.

Directly and indirectly +600 students as of now and teachers, parents and 2 midwives.

The Holistic MHH project is being implemented by Water For Cambodia and Just A Drop.

We would like to extend our appreciation to LES VOYAGES D’ANGELE 
Registered brand of ASIA MY WAY for sponsoring 115 Menstrual Hygiene Kits for the Svay Chek secondary school female students.

We select female and male students in grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 , 5 teachers and 2 community leaders to join the 2-day MHH workshop where together in the same class we learn about growth and changes, count the period with bracelet, sewing the washable pads and prepare plan for MHH advocacy in school as peer educators. The workshops are funded by UNICEF with the purpose of sustaining the activities in school for better health and life skills and better national policy for MHH in Cambodia.

MHH Project in 9 schools Siem Reap and Preah Vihea provnices and 21 schools’ teachers training in Preah Vihea Province.

Sponsored by UNICEF and Implemented by School Health Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and Green Lady Cambodia.

Directly and indirectly impact +2500 students and +70 teachers.

2025

Grade 6 female students in one of the primary schools watched “First Period Story” a short film about a young girl having her first period at school while she gets support from her peers in one of our Menstrual Health and Hygiene Classes in Battambang, #MHH project with Phare Ponleur Selpak Battambang.

July to November 2024

MHH Project with +300 female students.

Working with Green Shoots on the Menstrual, Sexual, and Reproductive Health and Rights project with Dr. Allisa, a Sexual Health Doctor at Anjali House, Siem Reap in July 2023. We are excited to try different methods to engage the students using Origami papers to make vagina and penis for students to be more open and have fun. 

In 2024, we will introduce our collaborative Booklet and plan for the training of trainers (ToT) with other professional this April 2024.

We collaborate with UN Youth Advisory Panel, UNFPA on the traveling Health Room with the Ministry of Education project to add on sewing pads workshop and Menstrual Health booklet that we developed to strengthening the involvement with the government and gain more insight for better booklet and other research related menstruation.
